Privacy Policy

We collect information in three ways: what you provide, what the app generates from use, and what your device shares automatically.

• Account information: email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and identifier those services provide.
• Coin photos: images you capture or upload to identify a coin.
• Collection data: coins you save, quantities, condition notes, favorites, and watchlist entries.
• Community content: posts, comments, and messages you choose to share in Coin Talk.
• Usage and device data: app version, device model, operating system, crash logs, and general usage patterns (see Analytics below).

MintLens requests camera access to capture coin photos for identification, and photo library access if you choose to upload an existing image instead. Both permissions are optional at the operating-system level — you can deny them and grant access later in your device settings, though identification requires at least one of the two.

Coin photos are uploaded to our identification service to generate a result. If you save a coin to your collection, its photos are retained with that collection entry until you delete the coin or your account.

Coins you add to your collection, along with quantities, notes, and any condition details you enter, are stored against your account so your collection persists across devices. This data is never shared publicly unless you explicitly post it to Coin Talk.

We use product analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app — for example, which screens are used most, or where users drop off in the scan flow. Analytics events are tied to a device or account identifier, not to your name or email, and are never used to build advertising profiles.

When the app crashes or encounters an error, we automatically collect a crash report containing device information, app state, and a stack trace, to diagnose and fix the issue. Crash reports do not include your coin photos.

This website uses a small number of essential cookies to remember your theme preference and, if you subscribe, to confirm your email signup. See the Cookie Policy for the full list and how to manage them.

We rely on a small number of processors to run the app and website:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions.
• RevenueCat: subscription management and billing, via the App Store and Google Play.
• Anthropic: grounded question-answering about identified coins.
• PCGS and NGC: certificate lookups you initiate, sent directly to their public APIs.

Each processor only receives the data necessary to perform its function.

Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to production data is limited to engineers who need it to operate the service, and all access is logged.

MintLens is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

MintLens is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can delete individual coins or your entire collection from within the app, or request full account deletion by contacting us — we respond within 30 days.
